The Economic Summer Programme (Cyprus) 2019. How it was
Inspired and headed by Dr Kirill Zimarin, CEO of RCB Bank, the annual Economic Summer Programme took place in Cyprus on July 22-28, 2019.
Over 40 students from UK, Poland, Russia and of course Cyprus met in Limassol to share an enjoyable summer learning experience, that included not only academic courses by the most renowned professors and trainers but also numerous social and cultural activities.
New trends in public finance and perspectives in the banking business, the European financial system after Brexit, the role of artificial intelligence, robots and fintech in the current world, – these were the key topics, which were presented and largely discussed during academic hours of the Economic Summer Programme. During the studies, students also acquired new skills on relationship building and decision making, learned how to manage stress, communicate effectively and built confidence, – all this thanks to a special training course with a business psychologist.
The highlight of the Programme was the visit to the Presidential Palace, which was hosted by the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus Mrs Andri Anastasiades, and the meeting with Dr Kirill Zimarin, the Programme founder. During the day at the capital, students also had an opportunity to take a deep dive into the country’s history by participating in the round table dedicated to the topic of Cyprus reunification.
Work hard, play hard. After successful completion of the knowledge-rich curriculum, participants had an opportunity to explore natural beauty and cultural treasures of Cyprus by making trips to different regions of the island. Troodos mountains, Aphrodite’s rock, traditional Cypriot villages, castles, cultural heritage of Pafos and many more was explored to better feel and understand the soul of the country.
